Pedro Branco’s practice is mainly focused on banking, corporate and gaming law, litigation and conveyancing. He is also a Private Notary since 1994, highly experienced in providing the most extensive notarial services.
Pedro has extensive experience in litigation, having handled complex court cases, and is highly regarded in his banking and finance practice, having participated in international financial transactions, as well on secured syndicated loans. He has also broad experience in advising on major real estate projects and corporate matters, including mergers, acquisitions, joint-ventures, cross-border transactions, reorganizations and corporate governance.
During his practice Pedro has been representing high-profile institutional clients, not only local but also from abroad, providing them his know-how and advice based on his solid legal and academic background.
Prior to joining JNV – Lawyers and Notaries, Pedro practiced several years as a lawyer both in Portugal and in Macau and worked as General Counsel in one of the major gaming operators in Macau, where he has developed deep legal knowledge and experience in what concerns gaming laws and operations in Macau. Pedro has also been university lecturer in Lisbon University Faculty of Law, teaching Public Finance.
He was elected member of the Board of Directors of the Macau Lawyers Association in 1995, was Vice-Chairman from 1995 to 1999 and from 2008 to 2010 and subsequently Chairman of the Lawyers Disciplinary Committee of Macau from 2010 until 2012.
Pedro graduated from the Lisbon University Faculty of Law and is a member of the Portuguese Bar Association and the Macau Lawyers Association.
He is native in Portuguese and fluent in both oral and written English and French.
