Joana Durão

Joana Durão’s practice has a strong focus on litigation, banking and finance, corporate and civil laws.

Joana has extensive experience in trial and in managing large scale banking litigation related to non-performing loans. She has been involved in negotiating and drafting several commercial and civil contracts, as well as in providing regulatory and compliance advisory services, mainly in commercial and banking areas.

Prior to joining JNV – Lawyers and Notaries, Joana was a Lawyer at Rodrigo Santiago Law Office, a law firm based in Portugal, where she has acquired extensive experience in criminal and civil litigation.

Joana graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra and has attended the post-graduation in Banking Stock Exchange and Insurance Law in the same Faculty. She is a member of the Portuguese Bar Association and the Macau Lawyers Association.

She is native in Portuguese and fluent in both oral and written English and Spanish.
